Here’s some exclusive tracks I just dug out of the vaults to celebrate the new year. The story with these goes a little something like this…

Ak sent me some acapellas a couple years ago right after he dropped the pretty outstanding Absolute Value LP. I did these two remixes and got his endorsement on them but unfortunately, nothing ever came to fruition in the form of an official release, hence the “semi-official remixes” title.

Regardless, these are both absolute fire (no pun intended), and they’re a little too hot to never see the light of day. The two tracks included are:

“Black Hell Breaks Loose (Featuring Willie Evans Jr., Therapy, and Zilla Rocca)”
The Zilla verse is an exclusive that we added into the mix for a little extra flavor. Personally, I think he kills it.

“Beast Mode (Featuring Mr. Lif)”
How could I pass on remixing some Perceptionists lyrical slaughter?

Enjoy.

Our director/cameraman Pete is hard at work and the video should be done soon!

Come out this Friday to see my band, J-Direct, rock it out in Williamsburg. We’re playing at Night Owl on North 4th between Bedford and Barry. Show is FREE and starts around 9ish. See ya there!

Come check your boy out this Thursday May 13th at Forbidden City in NYC. I’ll be showcasing my hottest joints alongside some other up-and-coming producers.

This event was created by producer Illmind as an opportunity for new producers to show off their skills. There will be special guests and all kinds of other good stuff some come out, get twisted and support your boy!

Forbidden City is located on Ave. A between 13th & 14th in NYC. The event is FREE and there’s no friggin’ dress code. Starts at 10pm and goes late!

On Friday, April 16, I’ll be pulling a double shift performing with my boy Dre Boogie as well as playing guitar and keys as part of the new J-Direct line up. It’s an early show so it won’t interfere with any weekend warrior antics—you’ll be out by 10PM and free to piss your paychecks away on blow and Jack Daniels.

Plus, it’s FREE and 2-for-1 drink specials.

In the meantime:

Here’s a glimpse of how it went down at the iStandard Producer Showcase back on March 15th. I came in third place by a narrow margin. Props to Bobby Welcome for the cel phone video clips.

On Friday March 26th, if you see a line forming across the Williamsburg bridge, don’t worry—it’s just all the people going to see Dre Boogie at the Delancey, right at the base of the bridge on the Manhattan side.

Dre will be performing with co-conspirators including Bobby Welcome, Ether Wiggins, Young Hef-Z and yours’ truly, Griff.

Also performing will be our close friends DXA along with Nobody Can Dance, Sweet Electra and Julian Rapp. It’s a nice lil’ variety show.

It’s 21+, the show starts at 8pm and the cover is only $5.

On Monday, March 15th I will be competing against a bunch of other producers in the iStandard Producer Showcase. It’s a chance for me to show off my skills and smoke these other cats in front of celebrity judges like Rockwilder and others.

It’s at Don Hill’s (@ Spring & Greenwich) in Manhattan. It should start at 8:30 promptly and goes until about 9:30. Afterwards there’s networking and ass-kissing and all that jazz. I’ve got tickets for sale, they’re $15 each or two for $25. There’s also a second night of the showcase on Tuesday the 16th (which I’m not in), and the tickets I’m selling are good for both nights.

Hope to see you there shaking your ass!
